I’ve already got a Facebook page — why do I need a website?
Keep the Facebook page going — but you don’t own it, Facebook does, and it usually won’t show when someone Googles your trade and town. Think of Facebook as chatting to people who already know you, and the website as getting found by the people who don’t yet. The website is the bit that brings new jobs in.
It sounds expensive — money’s tight.
Look at it per job. Growth is £195 a month — basically one small job. If the site brings even one extra job a month, it’s paid for itself. There’s no big bill up front like the agencies want, it’s a fixed monthly fee, and you can stop if it’s not working for you. If that’s a stretch to start, Presence is £95 and you can step up later.
Does this actually get me more calls?
Honest answer: a website on its own is a shop window — the Growth plan is the one that does the graft to get you showing up on Google and getting reviews. I can’t promise a #1 ranking or a set number of calls — nobody honestly can, and anyone who does is guessing. What I can do is the work that moves you up, show you exactly what people search, and report every few months on how many found you and got in touch — so you can see it working, not just take my word for it.
I’m too busy for this.
That’s exactly the point — I do all of it. I need about 20 minutes of your time for your details and some photos, then I handle the whole lot and keep it running. Being too busy to faff with a website is the reason to have me, not a reason to skip it.
Can you just build it for a one-off fee?
I can, but the monthly is honestly the better deal — a one-off site goes stale within a year and you’d pay again to fix it. The monthly keeps it fast, secure, updated and actively getting you found, with me on the end of the phone. If you really want a one-off I’ll quote it.
What if I want to leave — does it lock me in?
There’s an initial term so it’s worth me building it properly, but you’re not chained forever, and you own your site — I’m not holding it hostage. If it’s not working for you, you can go, and I’ll help you take it with you. I’d rather keep you because you’re happy, not because you’re stuck.
